Geophysical Consulting

Alpha Geoscience offers a full range of geophysical consulting services to exploration (minerals and petroleum industries), groundwater and geotechnical sectors.  These services can include, but are not limited to:

• Liaising with the client on the type of survey and survey specifications
• Developing the Request for Proposal
• Assessing Proposals
• Project manage the survey on behalf of the client
• Quality Assessment and Control of the Data Acquisition and Processing
• Data Interpretation and Report

Reporting

Alpha Geoscience will provide a comprehensive reporting process, which provides a full information of the work undertaken, to the client and other authorities where required.  The report will provide detail regarding every aspect of the project.

Research and Development

Alpha Geoscience is, and has been, involved in a variety of geophysical research and development ventures as the Project Managers.  Alpha Geoscience has the capability to assist clients in all facets of research and development projects, from obtaining suitable companies or organisations to undertake the research, to supervising the final manufacturing of the product. 

Timothy Pippett has had extensive experience in the project management of research and development projects in the geophysical field.  These projects include: 

• The development of a magnetic susceptibility meter for the mineral exploration industry
• The development of a high sensitivity magnetometer for the environmental and ordnance location industries
• Grass roots research on a project to use geophysics to locate DNAPL (dense non-aqueous phase liquids) in the subsurface for the CRC for Waste Management and Pollution Control
• Research of a multi-sensor geophysical instrumentation package for the horizon control of a coal-mining machine 
 

Timothy has also been involved in the CRC for Signal and Image Processing involved in GPR research, from which came Groundprobe Pty. Ltd. and the Slope Stability Radar (SSR).

Training

The staff at Alpha are available to instigate training courses in magnetics, time domain EM, ground conductivity, borehole logging and ground penetrating radar in Australia and around the world.  The courses are generally aimed at the data acquisition personnel with an emphasis on collecting high quality data.
